Alternating Workouts

Recently I decided to alternate workouts. Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are jump rope days (or jumping jacks in place of jumping rope if it's raining outside) and Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays are hill hiking days. Tuesday is a free day because that's when one of our cats goes the veterinary clinic for her weekly subcutaneous fluids. I started this alternate workout routine on April 22nd, the day after my new pair of Merrell Vapor Glove 4 shoes showed up from DSW online. I hike in my regular trail running shoes, but do my warmup workout to Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home routines on YouTube and DVD before going outside to do my jump rope routine in minimalist shoes. So far, so good! The hill hike is about 2 miles which is long enough to do before work starts. The first mile is pretty much uphill, so I stop occasionally to let my heart rate slow down a bit before continuing on.
